The big day started when Agnes woke us up at 5.50 am - jut like every other day. But today was special with two big parcels waiting at the kitchen table. Our present was an toy stove that Agnes can use while we're cooking. The other one was a cuddly stuffed dog from great uncle Nils-Hugo.
Since it was Agnes birthday, why not do the best thing there is, which just happens to be the same thing we do every Monday: open house preschool. Today was special, since the Isadora the Fairy came visit and playes some childrens' theater. The show was named Aaoii. I have no idea what she did, but she had the total attention of the kids - ages 8-12 months - for almost 20 minutes. Agnes was blown away.
After the show we met up with grandma and grandpa at the station and after a quick lunch at our place, we went to the Malmöhus museum. Agnes took great interest in all the stuffed animals, such as moose, deer, wild boar and fox. But the best thing was standing in front of the big fish tanks in the basement.
Both a theater show and living, moving animals close up front was almost too much for one day. But it wasn't over. The other set of grandparents showed up at evening and we all went for some pulled pork and beer.
The big day ended with some more birthday presents back at our place. We do think that Agnes - despite showing some signs of being tired - had a great, first birthday.
